Have your say on two new SEND Consultations

The Department for Education (DfE) has launched two consultations that could affect children and young people with SEND and their families.

🔹 Education Otherwise Than at School (EOTAS)
This consultation looks at how EOTAS provision is identified, managed and quality assured for children and young people whose special educational provision cannot appropriately be delivered in a school or college setting - SEND reform: education otherwise than at school - GOV.UK

🔹 £6,000 High Needs Threshold
This consultation explores changes to SEND funding, with the aim of giving mainstream schools and academies a greater share of SEN funding upfront to support inclusion - Upfront funding for mainstream schools: creating a ‘local SEND inclusion formula’ – what parents and carers of children and young people need to know - GOV.UK

Both consultations are open for 10 weeks, giving parents, carers, young people and professionals the opportunity to share their views.

If these topics affect you or your family, now is a chance to help shape future SEND policy.
